Life and Health Insurance
Four new underwriting guides at your disposal
To help you prepare your files, the Underwriting team is happy to provide you with four new underwriting guides :
- Build Chart for Life products informs you of the height-weight ratios eligible for a standard rate, in the absence of any other medical condition.
- Build Chart for Critical Illnesses informs you of the height-weight ratios eligible for a standard rate, in the absence of any other medical condition.
- New Financial Guidelines introduce the applicable standards for face amount calculation, for both personal and corporate cases. You will also find the eligible amounts for children insurance, as well as further guidelines for estate preservation and key person replacement cases.
- New Immigration and Foreign Residency Guidelines were also developed to determine the eligibility of newcomers and your clients residing abroad. In these guidelines, you will find the criteria for Life, Critical Illness and Disability Insurance, for permanent and non-permanent residents as well as for expatriate Canadians.
These new tools are intended to provide an outline for a probable decision for situations that occur most often. Though the final decision depends on the entire underwriting process, these estimations will allow you to manage your clients' expectations.
The new guides are an addition to our already existing underwriting documents (medical and non-medical risks, family history table for CI Insurance, and occupational risk list for the total disability rider). They will be added to the illustration software library at the next update, and until then they will be available on the secure advisor site.
We remind you that your SSQ Insurance representative is always available to help you prepare your files. Do not hesitate to contact us!
