Life and Health Insurance

Are you familiar with the Extreme Disability Benefit (EDB)?

This is an additional benefit, included free of charge, on all of our life insurance products, that makes 50%* of the face amount, up to a maximum of $250,000, payable if the client becomes permanently disabled and requires assistance for 4 of the 6 daily activities.

Beyond the qualification criteria, which do not generate the most lively conversations, it is interesting to look into the concrete aspect of this additional guarantee. The causes leading to the payment of the benefit may be accidental or result from a disease, and may not have the same impact on the client’s life expectancy:

Focusing on the outcome of this benefit will likely increase your client's curiosity, and trigger a conversation during which you can identify underlying insurance needs, such as a critical illness insurance. In this age where sociofinancing campaigns to support families are becoming increasingly frequent, clients are becoming more and more aware of the importance of a living benefit. Since the EDB is offered free of charge, it is a great way to start this conversation. So why not start the conversation with your clients today!

* If the coverage is a Term Plus with a decreasing face amount, the benefit will be limited to 25% of the initial face amount.
